Nashik News / Nashik Weather Update – Nashik city has been experiencing continuous rains for the last week causing the Godavari river to swell beyond its banks and flood several low-lying areas across the ghats in Panchavati.
This is my first-hand report after visiting the said locations on 30 Sep 2025.

The most critical situation was seen on 28 September 2025, when the river crossed danger levels and temples, bridges, and markets along the ghats in Panchavati were submerged under floodwaters.

This major event has dominated Nashik news and drawn attention to the city’s fragile monsoon infrastructure.
Even on 29 September 2025, when the water levels had slightly ebbed, many areas along the river banks were still waterlogged, leaving residents and shopkeepers grappling with damage.

Dutondya Maruti Goes Under Water
The Dutondya Maruti idol of Hanumanji on the Godavari ghat in Panchavati has long been a symbolic marker of flood intensity in Nashik. Locals often gauge the severity of rising waters by how much of the idol is submerged.
On September 28, the Dutondya Maruti was completely under water – a rare and alarming sight that signaled just how dangerously high the Godavari river had risen.

Flood Impact Across Panchavati and the Ghats
The worst affected areas included the historic ghats of Panchavati, where temples along the Godavari river were completely submerged.
Devotees who usually throng these sacred sites were instead met with scenes of inundation – iron railings on the Ram Setu bridge were bent or broken at some places, and temporary stalls that once lined the ghats were washed away, many of them relocated to the nearby Bhandi Bazar marketplace.

The images of Panchavati floods have quickly spread across Nashik city news and social media, showing murky waters flowing through lanes, small shrines drowned, and civic workers struggling to restore normalcy.
Civic Relief Work in Progress in Panchavati
Municipal workers in bright orange uniforms were seen working tirelessly at the ghats, clearing heaps of greenery and debris that had been swept in by the heavy rains in Nashik.

Teams used carts, shovels, and makeshift tools to remove water hyacinth and other waste clogging the riverbanks.

Local shopkeepers, meanwhile, were busy washing and cleaning their shops after days of inundation.

Residents and onlookers visited the ghats to witness the scale of the disaster, a reminder of how quickly the Nashik weather can change during peak monsoon.

Nashik City Struggles Amid Incessant Rains
While the heavy rains in Nashik and resultant floods have caused significant disruption, they have also highlighted the resilience of the city and its people.
Community efforts, combined with official relief work, are gradually helping restore life to normal.

This development marks a key highlight in the Nashik monsoon news, underscoring the scale of the floods and the city’s ongoing recovery efforts.
Life Slowly Returns to Normal in Panchavati
For anyone following news from Nashik, the recent floods are a stark reminder of the impact of erratic monsoons on urban life.
From submerged temples to displaced vendors and damaged roads and bridges, the city continues to recover from the aftermath of the Godavari river flooding.

As the skies clear, Nashik hopes for stability after days of turmoil caused by unrelenting rains in the city and adjoining rural areas.
